ABOUT LINCOLN FAMILY DOWNTOWN YMCA
The Lincoln Family Downtown Family YMCA has a rich history of serving our community with programs and activities that help further health and well-being. In 1907, the Phoenix Y was built at a time when the Phoenix population was only 8,496 people. In the 1960’s, the YMCA movement began offering housing for people in the communities. The Lincoln Family Downtown YMCA remains one of the few Y’s across the nation to maintain a housing program for men and women. As a non-profit, the Y strives to promote youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Offering affordable housing assists those looking to get back on their feet and heal their spirits, minds, and bodies.
The Lincoln Family Downtown Family YMCA provides programs and services that promote our four Core Values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. These programs include: child care, teen leadership, family senior programs, health and fitness, and volunteerism.
WHY THE Y? While each individuals’ story is different, collectively they are much the same … supportive, caring, long-term relationships which go far beyond the specific activity or program … beyond the buildings … beyond statistics … providing a positive impact on the lives of individuals, families and our community. We are more than a gym, we are a cause. Come see us today!
